Flight 191 2023 Investigation

The Ghost Research Society was the very first paranormal group to ever investigate and visit the crash site of Flight 191 in late June of 1979.

Equipment setup: Since we were on the move, we only used a digital recorder, cell phone and

Experiments performed: EVPs conducted with the Soul Receiver, Phasma Box, and Ovilus V, very near the actual crash site as determined by original photographs taken by Kaczmarek back in 1979.

Equipment setup: Two Sony Nightshot camcorders were employed, Rosario’s facing the crash site while Kaczmarek’s 4k camcorder was facing the crew and in the general direction of the crash. For the first time, wireless microphones were placed with Kaczmarek and Williams for better quality sound. The Soul Receiver Ghost Box, Phasma Box and Ovilus V were used during the EVP sessions and a Melmeter with telescopic probe and Tri-Field Natural EM Meter

Personal experiences:

Mike Rosario: Intro, and Equipment Used: For this investigation, we traveled to the American Airlines Flight 191 crash site. This took off on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at approximately 3:26 p.m. with Dale Kaczmarek, Chuck Williams, Ron Lovatt, and Diane St. Pierre-Oksanen. The day’s weather was warm, with skies clear and calm. Equipment I used in this investigation were my K-II Meter; a Philips VoiceTracer Digital Voice Recorder; a DVC 4K Ultra HD 48mp Night Shot Digital Video Camcorder, and an iPhone 8 Plus for exterior photo and video shots.

For this investigation, I had stayed with the entire group throughout all EVP sessions. It was incredibly exciting, because we were so far into the crash site that nobody has ever investigated/documented before, so it was truly breaking new ground for our group, and such an awesome site to see everything this far inside the area where this very horrible event occurred. I began by setting up my video equipment near the second fence area. Although everything was relatively open, we did not want to go past the second fence, as there was still construction equipment beyond this bordered area. We wanted to respect that, and not venture any further than that fenced section. Once settled, we all did a couple EVP sessions in two of the areas that were construction zones near the plane crash site. I also began to shoot numerous photos and videos with my phone for investigative/record purposes. We did take breaks in between these sessions to gather ourselves, and the incredible responses we received through the Ovilus and Phasma Box equipment that Dale had brought with him. I also assisted Dale with a couple Facebook Live sessions, documenting our entire investigation, the tools used, the giving of questions/instructions, and our reflections of what we had experienced during our entire time there. We had wrapped up our investigation around 5:15 p.m., striked the stage, and headed for a late lunch there afterwards. (On an interesting note: at the restaurant where we had lunch, my meal ticket order receipt number was #191).

Upon reviewing all of my evidence, I personally did not capture any video or photographic evidence, but did capture many interesting audio whilst during our EVP Phasma Box session during the investigation. Various, faint disembodied voices without the ITC device were also heard. After our initial investigation, we made our way over to the Flight 191 memorial at the Des Plaines Memorial Wall and Gardens Lake Park District to pay our respects, and give our condolences to those lost that very tragic day. It was an overall very productive, very professional, and wonderful afternoon, and I cannot wait to visit again!

Diane Oksanen: I was using a digital recorder and K-11 Meter. I heard some words come through the Phasma Box like; “Hi”, “Hello” and “Carla.”

Charles Williams: I had no paranormal experiences here however we conducted experiments as a group. I was using a 4K Video Camera on Blu-Ray setting, Zoom Recorder and Melmeter.

Dale conducted Zoom sessions so others could take part that don’t live close. There was only one group session at the site, Spirit Box, Ovilus, and the Phasma Box was used some compelling answers came through.

Dale did a solo session further into the crash site. We then went over to the memorial site for reflection, no sessions there.

Dale Kaczmarek: I did not have any personal experiences here or while conducting the EVP sessions however I did feel a great deal of sadness that so many people had lost their lives here in an instant. We were able to get much closer to where I believe the plane actually come down. This was confirmed by the photographs of the topography of the area, telephone poles and other features that I took in 1979.

Evidence collected:

Can you repeat that 191.MP4 - while conducting a Soul Receiver session, a question was asked, "Did anyone see the crash?" The device responds in a female voice, "Can you repeat that?"

Frank 191.MP4 – while conducting a Soul Receiver session, the name, “Frank” came through.

Go away 191.M4 – while conducting a Phasma Box session, a question was asked, “Can you tell us the name of the airport that it was going to?” The device interrupted the question and said, “Go away.”

Hawaii 191.MP4 – while conducting a Phasma Box session, a question was asked, “Where was the plane going to? Where was its final destination?” The device responded with, “Hawaii.” (Hawaii was the final destination of the Borcher family. There was a refueling stop in Los Angeles enroute to Hawaii.)

I heard something fall 191.MP4 – while conducting a Phasma Box session, Kaczmarek said, “Book (referring to Judith Wax’s book Starting in the Middle,) I know what you look like. The device said, “ I heard something fall.”

Jerry 191.MP4 – while conducting a Soul Receiver session, a question was asked, “Did anyone see the crash?” The device responded with, “Jerry.”

Mike (Xs2) 191.MP4 – while conducting a Phasma Box session, the device said, “Mike” twice.

Mikey 191.MP4 – while conducting a Phasma Box session, the device clearly called out “Mikey” in a loud female voice.

Ron is stupid 191.MP4 – while conducting a Phasma Box session, a question was asked, “Are you upset with what they’re doing?” The device responded with, “Ron is stupid.”

Use your cell phone 191.MP4 – while conducting a Phasma Box session, a question was asked, “Can you tell us who the president was when you crashed?” The device said, “Use your cell phone.”

Walter 191.MP4 – while conducting an Ovilus V session in dictionary mode, a question was asked, “Did you leave us?” The device replied with “Walter.” (Walter was the first name of the pilot Cpt. Walter Lutz.”

Conclusions: While not quite as active as previous investigations, it, nevertheless, still produced some interesting responses such as the captain’s first name, the final destination of the flight and the single word, crash.

Some of these responses might have been residual while the Hawaii was definitely a real-time intelligent answer to the question posed by an investigator. I believe that this area will continue to produce similar phenomena for many more years to come but especially due to the infringement of road construction in the immediate area that literally will be placed directly on top of possible remains of those unfortunate victims.

This, in my opinion, is sacrilegious and is not respectful of those who died here back in 1979.
